October 2nd – 25th
Opening reception Thursday, October 2nd, 5-8 P.M.
Last summer I was incapacitated by hip replacement surgery and my boyfriend was similarly affected by back surgery. Since we’d sit outside all day staring into his non-functional algae-coated swimming pool, we decided to populate it with a few hundred goldfish. Obsessively, we watched them swim and grow. Their progress became our primary form of entertainment. Their movements filled my waking and sleeping thoughts. I started to draw and paint them. In doing so my Indian cultural roots emerged and the fish took the form of decorative paisley pattern.
