Artist Statement

Fables and Foibles originates from images of fables from my childhood. Some of these images that I have carried with me have morphed over time, emerging into eccentricities. Dog Pile, pictured above, captures the essence of play that I strive to maintain as an adult. The three fantastical creatures chasing across the wall in Catch Me If You Can are based on types of wrenches one can find in a welding shop. The Beasts that recur in the exhibit represent the scary stories and dark fables that sink deep into a child’s mind.
