Shift Special Event on First Thursday: New York based artist Stephen Sewell will perform: How to Purposefully Forget Things, August 3rd, 7pm.
As an art historian and curator, Liz Patterson works to categorize, make connections, and find clarity within the visual arts. Untitled at Shift Gallery is the culmination of work that disrupts and defies, and consequently is the work that keeps Patterson thinking late into the night. In other words, this exhibit unites artists who make the visible invisible, the audible inaudible, and the legible illegible. From this exhibit you may learn how to deconstruct a piano, to not read text, to ride the bus, and how to forget. Contributing artists include: Ruth Marie Tomlinson, Patrice Donohue, Nathan Vass, Pam Galvani, and Stephen Sewell.
