Patrice Donohue

This show features new work that is a dramatic departure from my recent work of large, dense, dark conceptual pieces, to work that emerged first with red and orange and then lots of blue, and the eventual appearance of clouds. This work came as I was emerging from a period of deep personal and political grief and what better symbol to be given than clouds. Clouds are part of an endless, reciprocal exchange between the heavens and the earth, as is life and death; and are marvelously universal in their ability to transcend human differences and provide us a beautiful common experience.
