Cynthia Hibbard with Leah Gerrard | Flutes and Furrows

November 3 — November 26, 2022

First Thursday Art Walk, November 3, 5-8pm

Corrugated cardboard is having a renaissance. From homeless encampments to trendy architectural features to gallery walls and plinths, the simple structural beauty and utility of this corrugated paper sandwich is everywhere.

Last year I printed with carved, cardboard plates.  This year I’m hanging both prints and plates on the wall and following the enchantment of repetitive flutes and furrows into similar, calligraphic marks in other mediums—watercolor, etching, monotype, collage and clay.

Guest artist Leah Gerrard echoes cardboard-like impressions with her stem-winding, hanging wire sculpture.

I can never get enough of bends and twists and cuts and curls in whatever form on any given day.

Gallery is open Fridays and Saturdays 11am – 4pm, face coverings encouraged (policy subject to change).
