I often seek out and work with human-altered landscapes. The Toposequence linocuts are based on aerial photos of rice paddies. The title refers to the location of fields relative to accessible water. A farm family’s livelihood depends on the position of their field in this toposequence.

The Toposequence series was printed from twenty-four individual linoleum plates which were carved reductively and printed on washi sheets using eight disparate palettes. The prints have been hung in groups to create eight, coloristically unique, landscapes.
