Opening/First Thursday Art Walk: March 6, 5-8 pm
As soon as we take our first breath, we gradually expand our presence in this world by occupying space, consuming resources, and forming relationships. After our final breath leaves, we return to the ground. In between, we exist—living.
Art allows me to confront my bare self—the mind within the body, the bitter buried in the sweet, and the the true needs concealed beneath the pursuit of money. I question the meaning of my existence in the world shaped by the externally defined values and my internal perception of its basis. To find answers, I explore the tension between tangible presence and the intangible aspects of identity. My body bridges the physical and cognitive realms, serving as both a vessel of potential and a site of limitation. I measure my worth by weighing the resources I consume against the abilities I cultivate and contribute. Yet, the concept of value is fluid, shifting as my identity is shaped by external forces and self-reflection over time. The mundane elements of my belongings, habits, and relationships are fragmented mirrors of who I am.
