ARTIST STATEMENT

I am a process artist, predominantly a painter, and also a maker of sculptural forms. My work is generated in response to the materials that I use and the techniques and processes that I have developed.  

I seem to be drawn to making abstracted landscapes, referencing a combination of grid work, topological and vertical imagery. Cityscapes, urban, rural, fanatic and imaginary landscapes evolve with a rich vocabulary of mark making, and embedded history of texture and surface.

I give way to the process, as I respond to marks and materials. Imperfection and disrespect for conventions are primary. I surrender to the rules of chance and natural intuition as I make and play.
