I am a process artist, predominantly painting with oils on canvas. My work is generated in response to the materials that I use and the techniques and processes that I have developed. Imperfection and disrespect for convention is primary.
I seem to be drawn to making abstracted landscapes, referencing a combination of grid work, topological and vertical imagery. Cityscapes, urban or fanatic landscapes evolve with a rich vocabulary of mark making, and embedded history of texture and surface.
I do not attempt to understand what I do, but give way to the process. My most honest and satisfying work does not start with a coherent vision. I surrender to the rules of chance and natural intuition as I make and play.
