I am attracted to simple shapes and everyday objects. The still life subjects are
from my own collections. They are like characters in a play, always rehearsing
each new scene. Bowls, glass bottles, apothecary jars, pitchers and ceramic
vessels are among the cast.
With a background in Interior Design, I am always thinking of composition, scale
and color in three dimension. Printmaking gives me the opportunity to apply the
same principals in two dimensions. I enjoy the challenge of that conversion.
Coming from a “less is more” philosophy in design, I lean towards simplicity.
Always the editor, what is left out is as important as what is left in.
Deciding when to stop is the most critical moment for me.
