Karen Klee-Atlin | Remnants

June 6 – 29, 2024

Opening/First Thursday Art Walk: June 6, 5 – 8 pm
Artist Talk: Saturday, June 29, 1pm

In Remnants, Karen presents a playful new series of mixed-media monotypes based on various discarded manufactured surfaces. Using rubbings of CNC cutting leftovers, punchboards from board games and hand-cut stencils as her templates, she has created litho-crayon drawings on paper overlaid in ink. Working with brayers and exploring the translucency of the ink and the push and pull of colors, she has played with depth, movement and shape. In this series of unique prints, Karen has placed an emphasis on experimentation, improvisation, and the unpredictable nature of the printing process.
